Raised by a widowed mother, growing up was challenging and extremely difficult. As the last of six children, I never had guidance or a positive male role model in my life. I become a product of my environment, I emulated the older heads in regards to lifestyle choice and relationship management. I had no idea what being a man truly meant; I was lost with no direction. In 2012 it downed on me, if I continued on the path that I was heading; I’d end up either dead or in prison. My source of inspiration come from watching my mother struggle just to provide for my siblings and I. In December of 2012, I made the decision to become a Commercial Real Estate Agent. Up until that point in my life, I worked diligently for years but failed to achieve my goals or make any progress. I thought to myself, “there has to be a better way.” What fueled me was my burning desire to make it big in order to retire my mom and marry my then Fiancé. I’ve always been told that I’m a natural born leader, and that I’m a strong individual but, after years of failure; life finally got to me. That caused my wounds and childhood trauma to emerge profoundly. I fell into a deep depression and found myself in a very dark place.

This is a really great, no frills, practical book. I like that it just gets to the point, we’re all wounded! Now what to do about it? I’ve been following some of the exercises and using the journaling pages and intend to go through all of them. Really valuable insights here! Thanks Orbe! Glad I stumbled upon this.
Ascension was an easy read and contained excellent and necessary information for those looking to find success, either for the first time or that have found success and suffered a setback. Many times, a book in the self-help or motivation category is overly obtuse and filled with a lot of fluff. Ascension gets right to the point at hand and delivers not only the whys of success but also the how to’s while providing a step-by-step action plan to bring your goals to fruition. Most importantly, the book has a journal to help you stay on track once you break down and recognize goals, which will help you stay accountable to yourself and keep the main thing, the main thing. Highly recommend!
